Mac Shann takes the double at Paradise Lagoons 2019
Mac Shann takes the honour of being the first person to win both opens in the one year at Paradise Lagoons. He achieved this feat in May 2019.
In the Greame Acton Memorial Open, Mac was able to round out the competition on ‘Kid N Glo’ – a 13 yr old mare by Eskdale West Rugged Kid and goes back to Abdul on her mothers side. Mac has won several Open drafts on here since Mac & Gayle purchased her back in the 2011 Landmark Classic Sale.
Mac was then able to win the Mort & Co Open on his favorite gelding ‘Porters FD’ – 11 yr old. Porter has won 3 Novices & 8 Opens to date, including the Greame Acton Memorial Restricted Open Draft at Paradise Lagoons in 2016 as well CUT OUT HORSE of AUSTRALIA at the ACA National Finals 2017.
Porter was also purchased at the same Landmark Classic Sale as Kid N Glo. These 2 purchases in 2011 were the first purchases Mac & Gayle had ever made at Tamworth.
Mac was also able to ride to 2nd place in the Paradise Lagoons Novice Draft 2019 on Cooyong Bella – a 12yr old Chevin Ivory mare purchased from Dick Northcott.
